Achter Evrin gaan jazz-en blueszangeres Eefje Terschegget en singer-songwriter Riny Raijmakers schuil, een stel dat elkaar 12 jaar geleden tegen het lijf liep en besloot hun verschillende invloeden te bundelen in een folkrootsy mix van Americana, Blues, Jazz en Country. De warme, jazzy-bluesy stem van Eefje – geïnspireerd door iconen als Karen Dalton, Etta James, Nina Simone en Billie Holiday – vormt een intrigerend contrast met de rootsy stijl van singer-songwriter Riny, wiens invloeden o.a. Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Ry Cooder en John Hiatt zijn.
Hun samenspel resulteert in tijdloze songs die doen denken aan muzikale roadtrips door de jaren ’60 en ’70, soms zelfs verder terug in de tijd.
In 2015 verscheen hun debuutalbum 'Be Still', gevolgd door een EP in 2017. In 2023 brachten ze hun meest recente album 'In the Late Innings' uit op vinyl – een sfeervolle conceptplaat, die zowel een eerbetoon is aan hun helden als een weerspiegeling van hun eigen stem. Na jarenlang als duo op te treden, speelt Evrin tegenwoordig in een kleine bandbezetting met Marc Lemmen op basgitaar en afwisselend Mark de Groot en Robert van Beurden op elektrische gitaar.
Met optredens in onder meer Bali, Lembongan, Ierland en België verkennen Eefje en Riny voortdurend nieuwe muzikale grenzen. Ze mijden de platgetreden paden en volgen hun eigen route – altijd onderweg, altijd op zoek naar het volgende verhaal.
Het (vinyl) album 'In the late Innings' is mede mogelijk gemaakt door de stichting 'No Guts No Glory'. Daar zijn ze erg dankbaar voor! Evrin are jazz and blues singer Eefje Terschegget and singer-songwriter Riny Raijmakers, a couple who met 12 years ago and decided to combine their different influences in a folk-rootsy mix of Americana, blues, jazz, and country. Eefje's warm, jazzy-bluesy voice—inspired by icons such as Karen Dalton, Etta James, Nina Simone, and Billie Holiday—forms an intriguing contrast to the rootsy style of singer-songwriter Riny, whose influences include Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Ry Cooder, and John Hiatt.
The synergy between the two of them, results in timeless songs reminiscent of musical road trips through the 60s and 70s, sometimes even further back in time.
Their debut album "Be Still" was released in 2015, followed by an EP in 2017. In 2023, they released their most recent album "In the Late Innings" on vinyl – an atmospheric concept album that is both a tribute to their heroes and a reflection of their own voice. After years of performing as a duo, Evrin now plays in a small band with Marc Lemmen on bass guitar and either Mark de Groot or Robert van Beurden on electric guitar.
With performances in Bali, Lembongan, Ireland, and Belgium, among other places, Eefje and Riny are constantly exploring new musical frontiers. They avoid the beaten track and follow their own route – always on the move, always looking for the next story.
